Heaven is a hill and you're standing at the bottom.

Here on Steel-6, fifth outworld from the galaxy's southern edge, there's no shipyards. There's no whaling. There's no mining.

What there is is debris, human and metal, piled in heaps.

Jettisoned ship parts and drone husks and shipping containers dropped from orbit, all stacked a million layers deep. Steel plates and cables and circuitry, mounded and welded, transformed into structures or cities.

And across the surface, signs are propped. Blinking in neon, they signal to passing spacers: There Is Entertainment Here.
