Dungeon Gyros

Twenty years ago, dungeons erupted from the earth. Filled with strange monsters and technologies, they changed the balance of power in the world irreversibly. Early attempts at military intervention in these dungeons were rebuffed---the things inside did not care about bullets or bombs.

However all of this changed when a desperate streamer, raising money off of what they assumed to be their own demise, yelled “it’s time to blade out!” and spun their body into a thing that looked like a cross between a goblin and a bagua. To everyone’s surprise, the creature was knocked out immediately. Moreover, it left behind a brick of solid uranium when its corpse faded away.

After emergency medical treatment, the streamer survived, and their broadcast led to a revolution in average people storming the dungeons. Many got away with the kinds of equipment that would make them invulnerable to reprisal from governments.

Thus was the Spinning Age begun.
